'Killer' of Assistant Sub-Inspector Lucas Tete, who was among the four cops abducted by the Maoists after an encounter in Lakhisarai, Bihar, was arrested in Jamui district on Tuesday.

Bihar DGP Neelmani said that Boro Koda alias Shayam Sundar Koda, main accused of the killing of Lucas Tete, was arrested from Lakhmipur area in Jamui on Monday.

Neelmani said that Koda was handed over to Lakhisarai police for interrogation.

A police official in Lakhisarai told rediff.com over telephone that Koda confessed his involvement in killing of Lucas Tete.

Meanwhile, police have arrested three Maoists in Munger district on Monday who were involved in attacks on police.

Police recovered bullet riddled body of Lucas Tete on September 3
near a forest in the Lakhisarai district.

The Maoists had claimed to have executed Tete on Thursday, hours after the deadline given by the Left-wing extremists to the state government to meet their demands expired.

Avinash, a self-proclaimed Maoist spokesman, then said, "The government compelled us to kill him, as there was no move on the part of the government to initiate dialogue or negotiations, six hours after the deadline expired on Thursday."

The Maoists had kidnapped sub-inspectors Rupesh Kumar and Abhay Prasad Yadav, BMP havildar Ehtesham Khan and BMP ASI Lucas Tete after the encounter in Kajra police station area on August 29, which had left seven policemen dead.
