Prime Minster Narendra Modi is learnt to have expressed displeasure over the absence of some Cabinet ministers during Question Hour, sources in the government said on Thursday.

The prime minister flagged the absence of some ministers during Question Hour in both Houses of Parliament after the meeting of the Union Cabinet on Wednesday evening the sources said.

They said the prime minister was of the view that it is essential that ministers remain present in Parliament, especially during Question Hour.

He is learnt to have said that Question Hour is an important part of parliamentary proceedings as the government gets a chance to put across the various decisions taken by it in public interest.

During Question Hour, Cabinet ministers and ministers of state orally respond to the various supplementaries asked by members and give the government an opportunity to put forth its views on important various issues.
