PM gets a red carpet welcome in Tanzania

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was on Thursday accorded a red carpet welcome on his arrival in Dar es Salaam, the Tanzanian capital for talks with the country's top leadership to upgrade bilateral ties. 

The PM walked the red carpet, with scores of people dressed in their traditional attire holding Indian flags. He also inspected a guard of honour. A gun salute was then accorded which was followed by the singing of the national anthems of both the countries.

Singh is accompanied by a high level delegation, including External Affairs minister S M Krishna and National Security Adviser, Shivshankar Menon.

The pime minister is scheduled to hold talks with President Kikwete, followed by the signing of bilateral cooperation agreements.
