This time, it's war: How European papers covered Paris attacks

A series of attacks targeting young concert-goers, soccer fans and Parisians enjoying a Friday night out, killed at least 150 people in the deadliest violence to strike France since World War II.

The above front pages show how the European media reported the tragedy.

“L’horreur”, declares Equipe, needing no translation.

Le Figaro also says “War right in Paris”.

Left-leaning paper Liberation had the headline “Carnages A Paris”, and focused on the attacks around the Stade de France. It described it was “an unprecedented wave of attacks”.

The United Kingdom's The Independent.

"Massacre" is the word the Sun uses to describe the events. It says the victims were "picked off at random" and says the gunmen targeted six packed public venues around the French capital.

The Times uses the same term. 

"The bloody siege of Paris" is the Daily Telegraph's headline, as it describes France as "at war on home soil".
