Rani, the Royals and the Nobel Laureate

Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi and Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee rubbed shoulders with Britain’s Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall at a gala dinner for the British Asian Trust on Tuesday night.

The royal pair hosted the event to raise money for the charity -- British Asian Trust --Charles founded in 2007.

Charles joked with actress Rani Mukerji, who glittered in a stunning gold ensemble by designer Sabyasachi. 

The British Asian Trust operates in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to end abuse and exploitation, as well as improve education, healthcare and livelihoods in impoverished areas.

The event this year marked the launch of a new anti-trafficking fund for India supporting the work the Trust has undertaken in support of at risk girls affected by abuse and exploitation.

Satyarthi, who founded the Bachpan Bachao Andolan was present at the event and spoke to Prince Charles. The child rights activist was awarded the Nobel peace prize last year for his efforts in helping children.
