Voting was held on Sunday on 117 assembly seats in Punjab and 59 assembly constituencies spread across 16 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The districts in Uttar Pradesh that went for polling in Phase 3 of assembly elections are Hathras, Firozabad, Etah, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Etawah, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Hamirpur and Mahoba.

The Karhal Assembly seat, from where Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is contesting, also went to polls in this phase.

In Punjab, a total of 1,304 candidates, including 93 women and two transgenders, were in the fray for the high-stake electoral contest.

Here are a few glimpses of voters exercising their franchise in both the states.
