Cathy Wells, the mother of Marine Lance Cpl. Squire K. ‘Skip’ Wells, who was one of the five military servicemen slain last week in Chattanooga in a domestic terror attack, is given flowers by a Marine who served with her son, at her son’s vigil at Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia. Wells, 21, a reservist, was the youngest victim of an attack being investigated as an act of domestic terrorism. He was killed last Thursday when authorities say Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez opened fire at a Naval Reserve Center in Chattanooga, Tennesse, slaying Wells and three other Marines. Seven-year-old Barack Obama, named after US President Barack Obama, walks at the Senator Obama primary school in Kogelo village west of Kenya’s capital Nairobi. US President Barack Obama visited Kenya and Ethiopia. His ancestral home of Kogelo is home to Sarah Hussein Obama, his step-grandmother. The Kenyan village, burial place of Obama’s father, features an open-pit goldmine, a pork butcher’s, a school named after their most famous son and outdoor market stalls. Villagers get around by motorbike taxi or on foot while a donkey-cart transports water. Children, some of them named Obama in honour of the president, walk to and from school together. Police in Istanbul fired teargas and water cannon when a demonstration by protesters blaming the government for a suspected Islamic State suicide bombing turned violent, a Reuters witness said. Hundreds gathered near Istanbul’s central Taksim Square after the bombing in the mostly Kurdish border town of Suruc which killed at least 30 people.
