Daddy Fadnavis tweets about day at daughter's school

Last updated on: January 14, 2015 20:30 IST

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took time out from his hectic schedule for his daughter Divija, as he made a visit to the KG student’s school on Wednesday.

Fadnavis drove to the event called 'Daddy's Day Out' organised by South Mumbai's CathedralSchool to mingle with other parents and their children.

"The chief minister went to the school event like any other parent would. He was there for less than an hour," an official from the Chief Minister's Office told PTI.

Five-year-old Divija Fadnavis, who was a kindergarten student in Bhavan's Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir at Nagpur, is now a student of the Cathedral School after her mother, who worked with a private bank there, shifted to Mumbai, to be with Fadnavis who moved to the Maharashtra Chief Minister's official residence called 'Varsha'.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra chief minister's tweets showed that he managed to find time to attend the 'Daddy's Day Out' event at his daughter Divija's school on Wednesday, despite his hectic schedule which included a breakfast meeting with industrialist Ratan Tata and holding discussions with Consul General of Canada Richard Bale.

"At my daughter's school, this morning," Fadnavis tweeted.

Fadnavis was seen holding his daughter Divija's hand, dressed in a grey Nehru jacket over his white shirt and black trousers, with other parents, posing with her for a picture as well as joining a tug-of-war contest at the event.

Incidentally, the Maharashtra Chief Minister's tweet was chosen as a favourite tweet 347 times and retweeted 410 times.

Several twitterati replied in appreciation about his taking time off to perform fatherly duties.

"You're a good role model for other fathers who are unable to take time out of their schedule for their kids! Kudos Mr CM," said a tweet in appreciation.
