Should India call off the peace talks?

Pablo Neruda's famous words could well be describing India, not Spain. They could be describing Kashmir. His words could be describing New Delhi on October 29.

The Delhi serial blasts have shown once again that despite Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's sugary promises to India and the world, the hydra-headed terrorist network that operates out of his country is alive and biting, its bloodlust unabated.

Doesn't that render the ongoing India-Pakistan peace process facile, pointless?

How

can India smoke the peace pipe with Pakistan when the national capital has just seen its worst terrorist attack ever?

How can there be talk of confidence building when there is still blood on Indian streets?

How can the leaders of India and Pakistan pose smilingly for the flashbulbs when bombs rip apart children shopping for the festival of lights? 

Is it time for India to call off the peace process?

Or, is it time New Delhi demanded guarantees from Islamabad to continue walking the road to peace? What guarantees should they be?
