File immovable assets, Bihar tells officers

August 02, 2008 16:29 IST

To check corruption, the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar has issued a circular to all government officials to file the list of their immovable assets.

Defaulters' salary would be stopped, the circular said.

Chief secretary RJM Pillai said officers would have to submit the list – the status as on December 31,2007 -- over the next couple of months.

The move is applicable from IAS to the lowest class III. Only the class four staff are spared, it said.
