October 30, 2012 19:16 IST

In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani Rangers on Tuesday fired at Indian posts along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu district.

"Pakistan Rangers have fired with small arms on the Indian post of Pindi along the International Border in Arnia sub-sector from 11.45 am today," said a senior Border Security Force officer.

"Pak Rangers have also violated the ceasefire," he said.

BSF troops who were guarding the borderline took positions and effectively retaliated, he said.

There was no loss of life or damage to property in the firing, he said.

In another such incident, Pakistan troops violated the ceasefire and fired on some border posts along Line of Control in Krishnagati belt of Poonch sector late on Monday night.

There was, however, no loss of life or damage to property in the firing, officials said.

This is the ninth case of ceasefire violation so far in October. Pakistan had violated the ceasefire 27 times in the past two months along the International Border and Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
