Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the 32nd chief minister of Bihar on Friday.

The Janata Dal-United leader took oath as CM for a second consecutive term, two days after a historic win of the National Democratic Alliance in the Bihar assembly polls.

He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Debanand Konwar at a public function at the Gandhi maidan in Patna.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushil Kumar Modi was sworn in as the deputy chief minister of the JD-U-BJP coalition government.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several NDA leaders, including BJP president Nitin Gadkari, former deputy prime minister L K Advani, senior BJP leaders Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, actor-ploitician Shatrughan Sinha, JD-U president Sharad Yadav, among others.

Twenty-eight other ministers also took oath along with Nitish Kumar. Nearly one lakh people attended the function with many shouting slogans praising the Bihar CM.
