One killed as gunmen target news van in Pakistan

An employee of Pakistan's leading media group Geo television network was killed and another injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire at a Digital Satellite News Gathering van in Karachi on Tuesday night.

The GEO News channel van was parked with the driver and a satellite engineer inside it when three unidentified gunmen opened fire on the vehicle near the Naheed Store in Bahadurabad.

The assailants fled the scene on motorcycles after opening fire and we have started investigations to arrest the gunmen, DIG Munir Sheikh said.

Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Khan Siyal has taken notice of the attack and asked senior police officials to immediately arrest the suspects.
