President of the National Conference Omar Abdullah has said that he is planning to move a private member's bill on autonomy for Jammu and Kashmir during the winter session of Parliament, which begins on December 1.

He was reacting to reports in the media that Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, in his report to the prime minister, recommended that talks on autonomy should be reopened.

Patil made this proposal after his trip to Jammu and Kashmir earlier in the month.

"I am glad that someone in the government is talking about giving more autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir. I am contemplating bringing a private member's bill on autonomy for the state during this session of Parliament," Abdullah told rediff.com.

He also plans to lead a delegation of party MLAs to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister Shivraj Patil and hand over copies of the draft autonomy bill prepared by the National Conference when Dr Farooq Abdullah was chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
