No secret meeting between Raj and Gadkari: BJP

March 03, 2014 15:16 IST

Ashish Shelar, the city Bharatiya Janata Party chief, rubbished the reports of a secret meeting between former party president Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray at a five-star hotel in Mumbai on Monday.

"Let me put to rest the irresponsible speculation. No secret meetings happening between the BJP and the MNS," Shelar said on twitter.

Some Marathi news-channels reported this morning that Gadkari and Thackeray, who are known to enjoy a good rapport, were in a secret meeting at a five-star hotel, where Shelar too was present.

Last month Gadkari attended the ground-breaking ceremony of GodaPark, a riverbank beautification project of Nashik Municipal Corporation where the MNS is in power with the BJP's support.
