NGO claims its Godhra footage proves Modi's role

Last updated on: March 22, 2010 12:11 IST

Father Cedric Prakash, who runs a non-governmental organisation 'Prashant' in Ahmedabad, told rediff.com that the organisation would be releasing selective audio-visual clippings that reportedly establish Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's complicity in the riots following the burning of Sabarmati Express in Godhra on February 27, 2002.

The video has been shot by Tehelka, he added.

When asked if the tapes could reveal incriminating evidence against the beleaguered Gujarat chief minister, Father Prakash said, "Obviously so."

Meanwhile, Modi is unlikely to appear before the Special Investigation Team even on Monday. Sources had said on Sunday that Modi was unlikely to appear before the SIT until the Supreme Court approved the validity of the investigation team.

Bharatiya Janata Party member and member of the legislative assembly Madhu Srivastava, an accused in the Best Bakery case, is expected to depose before the SIT at 4 pm on Monday.
