The Delhi high court on Tuesday granted bail to arms dealer Suresh Nanda, his son Sanjeev and two others who allegedly manipulated evidence in the case of alleged kickbacks in the Barak missile deal.

The Nandas, their chartered accountant Bipin Shah and Indian Revenue Service officer Ashutosh Verma have been in custody for the last 53 days.

"Each of the petitioners shall be released forthwith," Justice S N Muralidhar said while pronouncing the order.

The court said all the four would have to furnish a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh and two sureties of like amounts.

The Bench also directed them not to leave the country without the court's permission.

Suresh Nanda and Sanjeev -- the latter is also an accused in the BMW hit-and-run case -- Shah, and Verma, deputy director (investigation) in the income-tax department, were arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on March 8 from a Mumbai hotel.

The CBI has alleged that the Nandas bribed public servants to manipulate income tax records.
