The National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Isak-Muivah has taken strong exception to National Security Adviser M K Narayanan's reported statement on Naga peace talks, alleging that the Centre was speaking in different tunes thus sending a 'diabolical' message on the ongoing peace process.

Criticising the NSA's recent statement that the peace talks had slowed down and it could move forward if only the NSCN (I-M) agreed to broad parameters under the Indian Union, the outfit termed the remarks, at a time when the peace talks have entered a crucial phase, as 'irresponsible'.

In a statement ahead of the Prime Minister's visit to Kohima in connection with the Assembly election, the NSCN (I-M) on Tuesday said the NSA's remark was a reflection of the Congress party's future scheme of political arrangement on the 'Indo-Naga' issue.

The ceasefire between the NSCN (I-M) and the Centre completed 10 years and during this period, over 50 rounds of talks were held for finding an acceptable and honourable solution to the Naga political conflict.

The NSCN (I-M) has already asked its cadre not to get involved in any way with the upcoming poll.
