January 09, 2006 13:00 IST

The Moreh gate in Manipur at Myanmar border was sealed Monday after two persons were killed and four injured in twin blasts in Namphalong, Myanmar, Sunday.

Police said the border has been sealed after a bomb blast killed a shopkeeper and injured his wife at Namphalong market near the international border at Moreh.

In another blast, one person was killed and three were injured, the police added.

Both the Myanmar authorities and Manipur police have blocked the gate since the blasts.

Citizens of both the countries were allowed to cross over through the Moreh gate during the day for shopping.
