On his first official visit after becoming the prime minister of Nepal, Baburam Bhattarai on Saturday said all "misunderstandings" have been "dispelled" and a "new chapter" has been opened up in Indo-Nepal ties.
The Nepalese prime minister also assured New Delhi of developing a mechanism to check the Fake Currency Notes circulation on Indo-Nepal border.
After his series of meetings since Friday with leaders in New Delhi, including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Home Minister P Chidambaram and Defence Minister A K Antony, Bhattarai told reporters, "My visit was a successful one. Whatever misunderstandings were there have been dispelled."
"A new chapter has been opened up in Indo-Nepal relationship," he said, signalling a positive development in the ties between New Delhi and the Maoist-led dispensation in Kathmandu.
He said all issues of mutual interest were discussed and the issue of FCN was also discussed.
He said the problems faced by Nepali citizens in taking genuine Indian currency notes would also be resolved.
"They get duped by unscrupulous elements. Some security forces are also involved. A mechanism would be developed for that also," he said.
Ahead of the Nepal prime minister's visit, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee had said that Indo-Nepal border was one of the major routes for circulating counterfeit currency in the country and had sought Kathmandu's cooperation to check it.
