Two suburban trains collided when they accidentally came on the same track at Mumbai's Andheri station on Saturday night, a railway official said. At least fifteen people were reportedly injured in the accident. However, railway officials maintain that no one was injured in the incident.

The accident occured because of signal failure and two bogies derailed, according to intial reports.

"The incident happened around 11.23 pm at platform number 4 of Andheri suburban railway station. The buffers of the two local trains dashed into each other," Western Railway spokesperson Nitin David said.

While one train was coming from Churchgate railway station, the other one, which was coming from Borivali, was heading towards Churchgate, the official said.

An inquiry has been ordered into the incident, he said without divulging other details.

More details awaited.
