February 10, 2011 22:59 IST

Egypt's military council was scheduled to meet on Thursday, without Hosni Mubarak, its leader, in a move that points to the fact that the Egyptian leader could step down.

The Washington Post reported that General Hassan Roueini told protestors at Tahrir square that 'all your demands will be met today."

Speaking before Congress, Central Intelligence A Director Leon Panetta said that the Egyptian president could step down today.
