Continuing his attack on Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on the Ram Sethu affidavit issue, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said it is "a war between Ram and Rome".

Addressing a public meeting Modi alleged the central government is trying its best to destroy civilisation of the country and the affidavit on non-existence of Lord Ram and Ram Sethu made in the Supreme Court by the government has been an attempt in that direction.

Modi demanded action against UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Law Minister H R Bhardwaj on the issue and "misguiding" the court.

If the court could initiate criminal proceedings against people making wrong affidavits, then why not criminal action against them, he asked.

Modi came down heavily on the central government for the non-inclusion of Gujarat capital "Gandhinagar" under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.

All the state capitals except Gandhinagar have been included under it and despite Gujarat making the highest contribution from collection of taxes to the centre, injustice continued to be meted out to the state, Modi alleged.

The Gujarat government had written to centre for inclusion of Porbandar (the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi) and Karamsad (birth place of iron man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel) under the JNNURM.

But the centre has continued to ignore Gujarat government's plea, Modi added.
