Mob attacks police station in Secunderabad over death of man

A group of people on Monday night attacked a police station at Secunderabad city over death of a man, who was earlier detained in connection with a scuffle.

Bannappa was taken to police station following the scuffle which took place during the local 'Bonalu' festival on Sunday, a police official said, adding that he was later sent away.

The man, however, died on Monday, after which the residents of his locality damaged the Marredpally police station alleging that police was responsible for his death.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy said an investigation has been ordered into the incident.
