Jeep-truck collision claims 15 lives

Fifteen people were killed when the jeep they were travelling in collided with a tanker at Kirwa village under Pali district of Rajasthan on Monday evening, police said on Tuesday.

According to the police, 12 people, including six women, died on the spot, while three more succumbed to their injuries later at a nearby hospital.

The deceased were on their way back home after paying obeisance at the Ramdevara temple in Jaisalmer district. The jeep carrying them collided with a tanker on the NH 15 at Kirwa, the police said.

The bodies of the victims, hailing from Ahmedabad, were handed over to the relatives after post-mortem, they added.
