Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Sunday suspended three officials, including two IAS officers, and ordered an inquiry against a retired engineer. They were charged with neglecting the upkeep of a park, her dream project, named after Dalit icon B R Ambedkar.
The vice-chairman of Lucknow Development Authority B B Singh, former principal secretary, PWD, S K Agarwal and Lucknow Development Authority chief engineer D R Yadav were put under suspension after Mayawati undertook a visit to the parkon Sunday evening.
Shealso ordered an inquiry against retired chief engineer of Rajkiya Nirman Nigam R S Yadav for 'utter neglect' of the park, which, she said, symbolised Bahujan Samaj Party ideology.
Mayawati told reporters at the park that post-retirementbenefits being given to Yadav would be reviewed.
Mayawatiexpressed serious resentment at the poor condition of the walls and floors of the park, the dirt there and the broken tiles.
Shesaid her party never showed disrespect to great people.
