Maoists blow up school building in Bihar

Maoists blew up a middle school building in Bihar's Gaya district on Saturday, a day after they blew up a middle school in neighbouring Aurangabad district, police officials said.

Over 70 Maoists surrounded the school and triggered a dynamite blast to blow up the building, which comes under Tilayia-Kund village under Barachatti police station. Three school rooms were badly damaged in the blast, the police said adding the ultras later burnt a house at the village before fleeing into the nearby forests.

In the last six months ,Maoists have targetted over half-a-dozen school buildings in Aurangabad and Gaya districts A combing operation has been launched in the area.
