Main desh nahin jhukne doonga: BJP'S campaign anthem

March 25, 2014 23:08 IST

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday launched its campaign anthem for Lok Sabha elections with the focus on Narendra Modi taking a pledge not to let the nation bow down.

‘Main desh nahin jhukne doonga (I will not let the country bow down)’ is the tagline of the anthem, titled ‘Saugandh’, which is sung in Modi's voice while the remaining portion of the sons is sung by popular singer Sukhwinder Singh.

"Saugandh symbolises our pledge to build the India of our dreams," said senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley while releasing the party's campaign anthem. "As BJP's poll campaign reaches its next stage, we are officially releasing our campaign anthem... the BJP's campaign anthem will be available in both audio and video form," he said.

The concept lyrics and creation of the song have been done by Prasoon Joshi and Team Tag while music has been composed by Aadesh Shrivastava. Jaitley justified the campaign keeping Modi in focus and said "the one who is projected as prime ministerial candidate, it is natural that the leadership projection in an election is based on him".

Saugandh -- a pledge to the nation, highlights the mood of despondency in the country and   collective pledge to ensure that the country is firmly in the path of progress. Modi expresses his resolve to ensure that India will stand tall and proud, that the recent setbacks will not be allowed to come in the way of India's glorious future.

The campaign has been adapted for radio, television and other media and the song will be played at BJP rallies, public meetings starting with Bharat Vijay rally on Wednesday.
