Aam Aadmi party on Thursday released manifesto for its most important contest -- Varanasi Lok Sabha seat where party chief Arvind Kejriwal is taking on BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

The document's cover page says "Ganga se lekar Sansad tak ki Safai ke liye Aam Aadmi party ka Banaras Sankalp Patra (The Banaras oath paper of Aam Aadmi party for cleaning Ganga and Parliament)."

The manifesto promises 'Holy City' status for the temple town. Besides, the eight-page-long document pledges for a cleaner Ganga, special economic package for the city, better roads, round the clock electricity and upgrading Banaras Hindu University to AIIMS.

The party also promised better educational infrastructure for students and assistance to farmers in its manifesto, which was crafted after collecting feedback from the locals.

Meanwhile, the party also welcomed JDU's decision to lend support to Kejriwal in the constituency.

Earlier on Thursday, senior JDU leader KC Tyagi had said his party would support Kejriwal in Varanasi. JDU leaders are also expected to campaign in favour of the AAP chief.
