They made people laugh and think

India-born Lakshminarayanan Mahadevan of Harvard University and Enrique Cerda Villablanca of Chile University have received the 2007 Ig Nobel Prize at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The dazzling duo studied how sheets become wrinkled.The prizes are given by the Harvard-based science humour magazine Annals of Improbable Research and honour achievements that first make people laugh, and then make them think.

The awards are considered a parody of Nobel Prizes. They are presented by a group that includes Nobel Laureates.
