The 'freshman class' this year consists of 39 Democrats and 12 Republicans; the totals could change as some races still are unresolved.
They will learn about the House of Representatives' dress code, ethics rules, the ins and outs of putting together a staff and more pressing issues.
In the US elections, held on November 7, as many as nine Indian Americans were voted into national, state and local offices, notching up one of their best performances to date.
