As a small boy, he collected stamps. And now, his face adorns one. Arnold Schwarzenegger's life is indeed the stuff of legends.

Austria is honouring one of its most famous sons by issuing a stamp bearing his picture. It was released on the body builder-turned-actor-turned-politician's 57th birthday on July 30 and is part of a collectors' series called 'Austrians Living Abroad'.

It costs ¢1 and though 600,000 of them will be up for grabs, interested persons are advised to hurry because post offices and websites are fast running out of stock.

Schwarzenegger immigrated to the United States in 1968 to pursue a career in body building. After winning the Mr Olympia title six times, he quit the profession in 1980 and concentrated full time on his acting career going on to become an immensely successful film star.

He recently topped it by becoming the governor of the state of California. His eyes are now set on making history by becoming the first non-native president of the United States of America.

The Terminator is still very popular in his home country where a sports stadium is named after him.
