Terror suspects take lie-detector test

February 19, 2008 17:56 IST

Terror suspects Mohammad Asif and Shakeel Mali were subjected to polygraph (lie-detector) test at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Bangalore on Tuesday, FSL sources said.

The test, which was conducted after a nearly two-hour preliminary interaction with the duo on Monday, lasted over an hour, sources said.

On whether the two suspects will be subjected to narco-analysis tests tomorrow, they said a decision on this is yet to be taken.

The two suspects were brought to Bangalore from Hubli by the Corps of Detectives (CoD) police on Wednesday.

Asif's custody has been extended to February 25, the day on which his bail plea will also be heard by a Hubli court.

Mali, associated with banned Students Islamic Movement of India, was nabbed on the outskirts of Dharwar on February 12 following information provided by Asif.
