A top Lashkar-e-Toiba militant from Pakistan has been arrested in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.
Security forces nabbed Abu Muaviyah, a resident of Pakistan, from the house of a sarpanch in Chooru area of Sopore late Thursday night, a police official said.
He said a cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered from the possession of the arrested militant.
The arrest comes close on the heels of killing of 6 militants in 2 encounters in Sopore and Shopian district over the past two days.
While 5 militants were killed in Keller area of Shopian, an LeT militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Sopore town a day earlier.
