Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad on Wednesday attacked his opponents for politicising the kidnapping of Kislay Kaushal and tarnishing the state's image.

"Those trying to politicise the kidnapping should have realised it could have harmed Kislay's life," the railway minister said.

"I am very happy our child has returned safely," he said, shortly after the Delhi Public School student was reunited with his family in Patna.

Lalu said he had monitored the rescue operation. "We were confident the police would rescue Kislay," he said.

On the other kidnapping cases, Lalu said, "Even though their cases have not been projected by the media, we are concerned about all of them."

Alleging a conspiracy to defame the state government, Lalu said, "We will expose those orchestrating the kidnappings."

"People, especially Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, have been trying to bring a bad name to Bihar," he said, adding, "The law and order situations in Bihar is better than in other states."

Praising the police for rescuing Kislay, Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi said, "Like Kislay, the other boys will be rescued."

Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan described the kidnapping and subsequent release of Kislay as 'stage-managed.'

"The timing of Kislay's rescue, a day before the first phase of the assembly election, suggests the RJD wants to take political mileage out of it. But since people are aware of Lalu's tactics, they will not be fooled," Paswan said.

"No one from my party is even remotely involved in the incident," he said.
