Lalu Yadav's kin defeated in Bihar polls

Former Bihar chief minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's wife Rabri Devi lost the elections from Raghopur and Sonepur assembly seats from which she contested.

She was defeated by Janata Dal-United's Satish Kumar by 11,000 votes in the Raghopur assembly seat. She was also defeated by the BJP candidate in Sonepur seat.

Lalu's brothers-in-law Sadhu and Subhash Yadav were also defeated in the Bihar assembly elections.

Sadhu Yadav, who contested as Congress candidate in Gopalgunj assembly seat faced defeat while Subhash Yadav, who contested as an Independent candidate, was defeated in Bikram assembly seat.

Both Sadhu and Subhash, who were not happy with Lalu, deserted him and contested polls against his party.

Sadhu joined Congress last year and contested Lok Sabha polls, but faced defeat.
