The Bharatiya Janata Party will hold protests against Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj across the state on Thursday after he missed Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa's deadline for the assembly session, reports Vicky Nanjappa.
With Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj refusing to take any decision on the convening of the Karnataka legislative assembly session, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has decided to up the ante by holding protests across the state.
The first of the statewide agitations will commence on Friday at Bengaluru with the chief minister leading a mammoth rally from Bengaluru's arterial MG Road. The Bharatiya Janata Party has also conveyed this decision to all its cells in various districts in Karnataka where similar rallies will be held.
Yeddyurappa, who had met Bhardwaj on Wednesday, had requested him to convene the session on June 2. However, the governor remained mum on the issue and only said that he would take a decision once President Pratibha Patil gave her opinion on his report in which he had recommended President's Rule in Karanataka.
The BJP, however, was not in any mood to wait and had said set a 5 pm deadline for Thursday following which they warned of launching a major agitation against him all over the state.
Despite this announcement, Bhardwaj refused to take any decision.
