Madan Lal Khurana, former chief minister of Delhi, who was expelled from Bhartiya Janata Party for six years early this week met former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to plead his case for revocation of expulsion order and offered to work for the party like he had been doing before.
Khurana , who was with Vajpayee for more than an hour, seemed confident that he had argued his case well before the most respected leader of the party.
"I have told Vajpayeeji that he is my Krishna and I am his Arjuna. I had come to thank Vajpayeeji for writing a letter in my favour. I am touched by his kind gesture," Khurana told reporters after the meeting.
He requested the former prime minister to arrange a one-to-one meeting with Advani in his residence so that the two could sort out their differences. "Advani is my leader," he said.
Earlier, in a letter to Advani, Khurana had said that it was no longer possible for him to work under his leadership. "I have said whatever I wanted to my respected leader Vajpayeeji. I have nothing more to say. Of course I am satisfied with my meeting with him," Khurana said, when asked if he was now ready to compromise.
Meanwhile Advani met with Jaswant Singh and Venkaiah Naidu at his residence and was briefed about these developments. Both of them had met with Vajpayee on Thursday night on Advani's behest after the former released a letter condemning Khurana's expulsion.
Advani and other leaders are expected to meet Vajpayee to find an amicable end to solution to the new crisis.
