July 27, 2011 20:14 IST

Hina Rabbani Khar, who is in India on her maiden visit as Pakistan foreign minister, will pay a visit to the revered Sufi shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer on Thursday before going back home.

Rabbani will leave for Jaipur on Thursday morning and from there she will go to Ajmer.

After visiting the dargarh sharif in Ajmer, Khar will come back to Jaipur from where she will leave for Pakistan.

Khar had also expressed her desire to offer prayers at the Jama Masjid in New Delhi, which was granted. However, the programme did not materialise.

Khar, 34, had visited India twice earlier but this is her first visit here as foreign minister.

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna invited Khar to visit South India after she told him that she was yet to visit that part of India.

Both Krishna and Khar on Wednesday held wide-ranging talks, after which the Pakistani minister called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Khar also met UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, senior BJP leader L K Advani and Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj.
