We will implement an anti-terror law in Kerala: BJP

Announcing the party manifesto at the state headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, national spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata party said that the BJP will focus on the poor and the downtrodden in the state.  He added that the party will be providing homes to the homeless if elected to power in the state.

"The BJP will start a law to fight against terror and organised crime, as terror and terrorism is perpetuating in the state. We will implement an anti-terror law in Kerala," he said.

"Kerala being a tourist-oriented state, the party will fight against terror. We don't want people from anywhere in the world watch Kerala people as coming from a state that perpetuates terror. We will make state committed to fight terror," he said.

"If the BJP forms a government in Kerala, the state will look into the Gujarat model of development which has transgressed all the other models of development," Rudy added.

The BJP leader also said that there could be a snap poll in the near future and that the BJP will come to the power at the centre. "If the party comes to power at the centre it would look into all the necessities of Kerala," he said.

The BJP state president V Muraleedharan, while lashing out against the Communist Party of India-Marxist, called upon the party to declare as to why the Jamat Islami leaders had met the CPI-M state secretary.

The BJP leader also called upon the CPI-M state secretary to clarify as to whether he is sticking to his earlier stand that the Jamat Islami is an off shoot of the Hizbul Mujahiddin.
