Dutch Ambassador Peter Frank Christian on Tuesday met Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairman and senior Hurriyat Conference leader Mohammad Yaseen Malik.
Christian arrived in Srinagar on Monday and visited Malik at his residence. The meeting lasted nearly one-and-a-half hour, sources said.
A JKLF spokesman said the Kashmir issue was discussed at the meeting, but did not spell out the details.
Sources said Malik spoke about his desire to see a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir tangle.
Christian is scheduled to meet Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Wednesday.
He will also pay a visit to the Hurriyat headquarters in the city on Thursday to meet its seven-member executive council.
