CPI-M state committee on Tuesday : Karat ,Yechury to participate

The two day Communist Partyof India-Marxist state committee meeting which is significant after the Polibureau decision of demoting the octogenarian leader and Chief Minister of Kerala ,V S Achuthanandan from the party polibureau will begin in Thiruvananthpuram on Tuesday.

The two day meet will be attended by central leaders, party general secretary Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechury, who according to sources in the CPI-M were oppossed on the decision taken against Achuthanandan.

The CPI-M sources also revealed that Yechury is specifically arriving following the advice from several Politbureau members who felt that wrong was committed on Achuthanandan and is considered as a special party emissary to pacify the tough leader from taking decisions like resigning from the chief minister's post.

Leaders including M K Panthe, Sitaram Yechury, Manik Sarkar, Brinda Karat and Mohammed Amin, it is learnt had strongly opposed the unilateral action against Achuthanandan while leaving Pinarayi untouched.

The CPI-M central leaders will also try to convey to the party state committee members to set aside their acute divisionism and to work spiritedly and unitedly for the upliftment of the working class and to work for the welfare of the people.

Even on the second day after action was taken against Achuthanandan there were several posters hailing the chief minister and lashing out at the official faction led by Pinarayi Vijayan and the CPI-M central committee leaders including party general secretary Prakash Karat .
