Mehbooba Mufti, President of the People's Democratic Front, and Vijay Kumar Malhotra of the Bharatiya Janata Party denounced government of Jammu and Kashmir for its failure to take action against those who raised the flags of Lashkar-e-Tayiba during the rally of Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Sunday.

"There is a greater conspiracy in this. For three years Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was in power but not once did Geelani make anti-India speech. No pro-Pakistani flags were raised. It seems those who are against the peace progress and the round table conference have conspired against us. We want this to be investigated," she said on Thursday.

Vijay Kumar Malhotra wanted Geelani to be booked under sedition for waging war against India for making provocative speech. He also wanted those who raised the flags of Lashkar-e-Tayiba to be arrested and prosecuted.

Malhotra had no answer when told that it was the National Democratic Alliance had picked the medical bills of Geelani when he was under treatment. "I do not know whether his medical bills were picked up by the government at that time," he said. "Any how he should be arrested for the provocative speech made by him," he added.

He blamed Dr Manmohan Singh government for inaction in Jammu and Kashmir and trying to pacify the terrorists by accepting their demands of demilitarisation.

"They have already started removing army units from Doda, Poonch and Rajouri sector and that is why the Hindus are being killed in these areas. We would like to know why Geelani has not been arrested by now," he asked.
