Srinagar: Gun battle between militants, security forces

Security forces and militants were locked in a gun battle in Shalimar area of the Srinagar on Friday, officials said.

The encounter broke out after security forces laid cordon around Banigam locality in Shalimar area of the city, they said.

The exchange of fire between the forces and militants, believed to be two in number, was going on and there were no reports of any casualty so far.
