The state of Jammu and Kashmir will soon have three cyber police stations, according to Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda.
He said that the three cyber police stations are being established at Srinagar, Jammu and crime headquarters.
The DGP said, "Cyber crime has been posing a great challenge to the modern policing and J&K police is having full competence to meet the challenge."
Khoda said this while chairing a high-level meeting at crime headquarters in Srinagar on Tuesday. The meeting was convened to discuss the crime situation in the state and steps taken by the police to curb these crimes.
He said that space for three cyber police stations has been identified and they would start functioning from December 15.
"Software and the other staff would be arranged within our own resources till necessary allocations are made by the government," Khoda added.
He said that various heinous crimes have been exposed by the crime department and persons involved in these crimes have been brought to justice.
The DGP also said that in the present times the importance of crime detection has been raised and it is the need of time to strengthen crime wing in the state.
