The Defence Research and Development Organisation has, in collaboration with Bharat Electronics Limited, developed a 'Weapon Locating Radar' capable of containing remote-controlled explosions.
It will be ready for field trials by the end of December, the government told the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
Replying to written questions, Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee said WLR was developed at a cost of Rs 26 crore. The unit cost will depend on the size of the order, he added.
Mukherjee said the government was not thinking of making this technology available to other countries.
