Jaitley turns 63; Modi wishes him long life

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday turned 63 and was greeted on his birthday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many other leaders.

Jaitley, who also holds the charge of Information and Broadcasting Ministry as well as Corporate Affairs Ministry, is among the senior most ministers in the Union cabinet and has been active in politics since his college days when he was an ABVP student leader.

"Dear Arun ji, wishing you a very happy birthday. May you be blessed with the best health & a long life," Modi tweeted.   

Jaitley, a Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat, was also greeted by several other leaders of BJP and various other parties.

"Thank you everyone for kind birthday wishes and blessings," he later wrote on social media platform Facebook while posting pictures of his birthday celebrations at Lodhi

Garden, where he frequently goes for a morning walk, as also at his residence and at his office.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh also tweeted his best wishes and greetings to Jaitley.

"My best wishes and greetings to Shri @Arunjaitley on his birthday today. Pray for his good health and long life," Singh said.

Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah also tweeted, "Wishing Shri @arunjaitley ji a very happy birthday. My prayers and wishes for your long and healthy life."

Those wishing him on his birthday also included union ministers Piyush Goyal, Ram Vilas Paswan and Jeetendra Singh, as also Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
