The Delhi police on Friday claimed to have arrested a suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed militant with three kilograms of RDX from a northwest Delhi locality.

Pervez Ahmad Rado, 29, of Sopore in Kashmir's Baramullah district was arrested from Azadpur on October 14, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Alok Kumar said.

He said the police recovered three kg RDX, Rs 10 lakh, a timer and a detonator.

Police teams have also been sent to Jammu and Kashmir.

The police produced Radoo at a local court on October 15. The court remanded him in police custody.

Security has also been tightened across the capital.

Intelligence inputs have warned of terror strikes in some parts of the country.

The police have stepped up patrolling and are checking and frisking suspicious people at market places.

They have also directed cyber cafés, telephone booth owners and second-hand car dealers to maintain a tight vigil on all customers.

"We have intensified checking at parking lots in all crowded places, including markets. We have put in place a tight access control mechanism and are coordinating with intelligence agencies on various inputs," a senior police official said.
