The Central Bureau of Investigation, which is investigating the cases related to YSR Congress Chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and Emaar Properties land deal on Tuesday sought certain files from the Andhra Pradesh government.

CBI Joint Director (Hyderabad zone) Lakshmi Narayana, who is heading the investigations, met Chief Secretary S V Prasad at the secretariat Hyderabad and handed over to him a letter in this regard.

"In connection with the investigation (into both the cases) we have requested the chief secretary for providing some files. We have listed certain GOs of various departments and sought those files," Lakshmi Narayana told reporters.

The letter seeks files from various departments like Revenue, Industries and Infrastructure, Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, Information Technology and Communication, Mines, Irrigation among others.

"If we come across any doubts on (such files), we will ask the officials for more information," he said.

The CBI, which has been investigating two cases relating to investments made by various firms into the businesses of Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy and alleged irregularities in the APIIC-Emaar land deal has also questioned different persons.

The CBI after registering cases against Jagan and Emaar land deal on August 17 conducted searches for three days at different locations.

With regard to Emaar deal, the CBI has conducted extensive searches at the residence of B P Acharya, senior Indian Administrative Service officer and former chairman and managing Director of APIIC, and the office of Emaar here and also seized certain documents. The scrutiny of the seized material including documents, laptops, hard disks were on.

Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh high court on a petition filed by state Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao passed an order directing the CBI to conduct a thorough enquiry against Jagan for allegedly amassing huge wealth using his late father's position as chief minister.

Rao had alleged that Jagan's income rose from Rs 11 lakh in 2004 to Rs 43,000 crore by the time of his father's death in 2009. Rao, had sought a CBI enquiry into the companies that had invested in Jagan's businesses to allegedly win favours in the form of land allotments and mining leases from the then government led by Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Meanwhile, CBI officials today continued searches on the office premises of the investing companies and also residences of some of the investors.
