Iraq's governing council member shot

Akila al-Hashimi, a member of Iraq's governing council, was shot early Saturday morning and is in a critical condition, CNN reported on Saturday evening.

At least four gunmen opened fire on Hashimi's car as she left her house.

Hashimi and her driver are in a critical condition.
